I am informed by the National Building Agency that steps are being taken to have this scheme started as soon as possible.
Could the Minister indicate the reason for the delay because we have been waiting for about 12 months now for the scheme to start?
There is some difficulty about the lowest tender. The contractor is withdrawing.
He must not be a member of Taca.
He is not prepared to go ahead at his tender price.
Do I understand the Minister to say that the man whose tender was accepted is withdrawing?
Yes.
Will it have to be put out to tender again or will the next on the list be chosen?
The next on the list will be given an opportunity of taking the contract.
Could the Minister say why the contractor is withdrawing?
He is not prepared to go ahead at the price he quoted.
