Mr. M.J. O'Higgins

asked the Minister for Lands the amount of land at present owned by the Land Commission and available or which will ultimately be available for division in Wicklow, indicating as far as possible when the land was acquired, its situation and when it is expected that its division will be completed.

NOTES: 1. It is not possible at present to indicate when the individual estates mentioned will be allotted but there will be no avoidable delay. The necessary local enquiries preliminary to allotment are being pushed forward as rapidly as circumstances permit.

2. During the last three complete financial years the aggregate area allotted in Co. Wicklow was approximately 1,900 acres.

3. In Co. Wicklow at present negotiations are in progress for voluntary purchase of 18 properties comprising 1,590 acres and proceedings are at various stages for compulsory acquisition of 13 estates containing 1,460 acres.
