The net registered tonnage of ships which arrived at Irish ports in 1968 (including net tonnage of ships in the coasting trade) was 14.78 million. Of this total 1.70 million related to Irish registered ships. The corresponding figures for 1967 are 13.81 million and 1.56 million respectively.
In compiling the figure a vessel calling at one or more ports is recorded as an arrival at each of these ports.
