Vol. 241 No. 7

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Recruiting Report.

51.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of a report to the effect that British Army agents, in contravention of the law, have been seeking to recruit young Irishmen in the Cabra area for the British armed forces; if he has taken steps to investigate these reported activities; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Garda Síochána have not been able to discover any evidence to support the newspaper report in question.

Arising from the Minister's reply and arising, indeed, from replies given by other Ministers to questions, particularly to those in the name of Deputy Cruise-O'Brien, could I ask the Minister if the party of which he is a representative will now cease, or has ceased, to describe itself as the Republican Party?

Would the Deputy repeat the question, as I did not get the end of it?

Did it ever begin or end?

The journalist in this case, like some inexperienced Deputies, has had his leg pulled.
