The area of arable lands on hands of the Land Commission in County Mayo is 4,000 acres approximately. It is not possible to indicate when the individual estates comprised in this acreage will be allotted. The necessary local enquiries preliminary to allotment are being pushed forward as rapidly as circumstances permit.
I may say that during the last three complete financial years an aggregate of some 12,500 acres was distributed in County Mayo in about 660 allotments.
