I regret that I cannot undertake that gratuities will be payable to discharged non-commissioned officers and privates in addition to their pensions and married pensions. Provision already exists in the Defence Forces (Pensions) Scheme for the payment of gratuities to non-commissioned officers and privates who are discharged from the Defence Forces before they have completed the requisite qualifying service for pension purposes.
