Vol. 243 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Geriatric Services.

22.

Dr. Browne

andDr. O'Connell asked the Minister for Health whether a clinical director for geriatric services for the Dublin Health Authority has been appointed; and, if so, when it is intended that he should take up his duties.

I presume that the question refers to the post of physician in the geriatric service of the Dublin Health Authority. I have just approved of the creation of two such posts. The Local Appointments Commission will be asked to hold as soon as possible a competition for the filling, on a permanent basis, of these two posts. It is not possible to indicate, at this stage, when the persons to be appointed as a result of this competition can take up duty.
