Vol. 243 No. 10

Written Answers. - Dublin Health Authority Nurses.

92.

asked the Minister for Health (a) the total number of nursing posts approved for the Dublin Health Authority in general medical and fever hospitals (excluding psychiatric hospitals) and sanatoria, in respect of each of the years 1960 to 1969 inclusive; (b) the number of such posts filled on a permanent basis by qualified nurses or by student nurses (excluding State-enrolled nurses); (c) the total number of student nurses distinguishing as between nurses in their first to final years employed by the Dublin Health Authority in the above-mentioned hospitals; (d) the number of such posts occupied by temporary, part-time nurses, either married or single; (e) the ratio of nurses, either qualified or student nurses and excluding State-enrolled nurses, to patients in each of the authority's hospitals in respect of the years 1960 to 1969 inclusive and (f) if he will give particulars as to the employment of State-enrolled nurses by the Dublin Health Authority in each of the general medical and fever hospitals excluding psychiatric hospitals and sanatoria for each of the years 1960 to 1969 inclusive.

The information sought by the Deputy is not available in my Department.

I would not feel justified in asking the Dublin Health Authority to compile the detailed information sought in view of the time and expense which would be involved in assembling it.
