andDr. Browne asked the Minister for Education what steps have been taken to bring about a reappraisal of the school meals service in accordance with the recommendations in page 87 of the Child Health Services Report.

I wish to refer the Deputies to my reply to a similar question on 30th October last.

64.

asked the Minister for Education if he is satisfied that the quality of the school meals in Dublin and the conditions under which they are served are absolutely hygienic as there have been complaints of contamination in some cases; and if he will state how often inspection by his Department takes place.

My Department have no function in relation to this matter. I understand, however, that Dublin Corporation takes steps to ensure that the regulations in the matter of hygiene are complied with.
