Vol. 244 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin-Bray Road.

30.

asked the Minister for Local Government the progress to date in the provision of the new Dublin to Bray main road.

I take it that the Deputy refers to the proposals of the local authorities concerned for the improvement of this route. The Dublin County Council are examining the section from Loughlinstown to Bray with a view to the preparation of proposals. As to the remainder of the route, from Donnybrook to Loughlinstown, I have approved in principle of its improvement to dual carriageway standard, subject to the satisfactory acquisition of the necessary lands and agreement on detailed plans. The local authorities have instituted proceedings for the compulsory acquisition of land for substantial sections and this issue has first to be settled. They are proceeding with the planning of other sections.
