Bord Fáilte have agreed with Dublin County Council outline proposals for resort development works at Skerries. The proposals cover (a) works around the harbour, including a slipway, which has already been completed, and a new yacht clubhouse with car parking and leisure park facilities attached; (b) works facing the South Beach, including a recreation playground area and a new promenade and kerb walling together with an enlarged footpath, seating, weather shelters and limited car parking, and (c) the development of the golf clubhouse and the extension of the course.
The works already carried out and the acquisition of land for the scheme I have outlined have been assisted by Bord Fáilte by grants which, to date, amount to £28,000.
