Vol. 244 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Louth Dumping.

21.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has yet made a decision in relation to objections made to a prohibition Order made by Louth County Council under section 31 of the Local Government Sanitary Services Act, 1948 in respect of an area at Clogherhead, County Louth; if he is aware that wide areas of the beach at Clogherhead were unable to be enjoyed by citizens in recent summers because of unauthorised dumping of foul material; and, if no decision has been made, when it can be expected.

I decided this case last week.

Could the Minister tell me what the decision was?

I was not asked that.

Surely courtesy as between Members of this House would indicate that the Minister could give me his decision, which is either one way or the other.

If the Deputy had asked for it he would have got it.

This shows the Minister's complete contempt for this House, a contempt which, I am sure, will be corrected in the very near future.

As I am not satisfied with the Minister's reply, I propose, with your permission, Sir, to raise this matter on the Adjournment.

The Chair will communicate with the Deputy.
