Vol. 246 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Parking of Lorries.

90.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether it is necessary to obtain planning permission for the storage of lorries and the parking of lorries in private areas; and whether it is necessary to obtain planning permission for the installation of diesel tanks for the storage of fuel.

Permission under the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963, is required for any development which comprises the making of a material change in the use of any land and if the use of land for the parking or storage of lorries would constitute a material change in the use of the land permission would be required.

The same considerations would apply to the installation of tanks for the storage of diesel fuel.
