Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Water Pressure.

89.

asked the Minister for Local Government what steps are being taken at present to rectify the poor water pressure which is prevalent in the north side of the city of Dublin.

This is a matter for the sanitary authorities concerned. Schemes are under construction or being prepared by the Dublin authorities to ensure that an adequate supply of water will be available for the areas mentioned as soon as possible.

There is poor water pressure on both sides of the city. May I take it that this will apply equally to the south side of the city or is it specifically for the north side? There are new plans for improving the water pressure.

My reply relates to the north side of the city.

I was wondering are these plans for the north side only?

The plans I mentioned in reply to the question I was asked refer to the north side of the city.

Does the Minister know if there are plans for the south side?

I could not say without prior notice but I know that every effort is being made by the local authorities to improve public water supplies in Dublin north and south.
