Following the Budget announcement of an improvement in the milk cooler grant scheme, the grant for ice-bank coolers was increased from £40 to £75, with effect from 5th May last.
As regards the second part of the question, the increased grant for ice-bank coolers should encourage the adaptation by milk producers of their in-can coolers, on which the grant is £5, by the addition of chilling equipment so as to qualify for a further grant of £70 for them as ice-bank coolers.
