In the period from 1st January to 4th June, 1970, the latest date for which figures are available, deliveries of milk to creameries amounted to 171.5 million gallons. The quantity delivered in the corresponding period of 1969 was 170.9 million gallons.
The statistics available in respect of milk for liquid consumption relate only to monthly sales in the Dublin and Cork District Milk Boards' areas. The sales from January to May, 1970, inclusive, amounted to 16.7 million gallons as compared with 16.4 million gallons in the corresponding months of 1969.
