56.

asked the Minister for Local Government if all arrangements have been completed between his Department and the Kerry County Council for the erection of five cottages in Caherciveen; and, if so, when erection will start.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 55 and 56 together.

The county council's proposals were approved by me on the 6th May last. I have no information as to the commencement date of the scheme.

57.

asked the Minister for Local Government what proposals he has received from Kerry County Council regarding a housing scheme at Park road, Killarney, County Kerry.

58.

asked the Minister for Local Government what proposals Kerry County Council and the National Building Agency have for the provision of houses for industrial workers and others in Killarney on lands acquired for housing; and whether it is expected that the proposed scheme will be carried out during the current financial year.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 57 and 58 together.

Negotiations have been proceeding between interested bodies with a view to the provision, by the National Building Agency Limited, of houses for industrial workers and others on a site owned by Kerry County Council at Park Road, Killarney. I understand that house plans have been agreed and that a revised lay-out plan will be discussed shortly between officers of the agency and the council. I cannot say at this stage when work on the scheme will be carried out.
