Vol. 248 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

109.

asked the Minister for Local Government when part II of the Ballydaly group water scheme, Millstreet, County Cork, will be completed; and if people in the area are refused grants for private supplies.

Stage 2 of this scheme has not yet commenced and I cannot therefore say when it will be completed. I understand that agreement has recently been reached about the use of a particular source for the scheme. Grants are not normally made available for single installations in areas being served by group schemes.

110.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of group water schemes for (a) County Leitrim and (b) County Sligo at present before his Department; and what stage of development each has reached.

A statement setting out the position is being prepared and will be forwarded to the Deputy.

111.

asked the Minister for Local Government what proposals there are before his Department for the extension and improvement of the sewerage scheme at Oldcastle, County Meath.

The submission of additional technical data which the local authority were requested to furnish in relation to their proposals for the Oldcastle sewerage improvement scheme is awaited.

Their proposals for an extension of the existing system to be carried out in advance of the main scheme were approved by me on the 17th June last.
