Vol. 249 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Child Labour.

12.

asked the Minister for Labour if he will take prompt and effective steps to enforce the law prohibiting the employment of child labour.

The relevant provisions of labour legislation are enforced by the inspectors of the Department of Labour as a matter of routine. Very few complaints are received but, if the Deputy has one, I will have it investigated.

There is one thing certain. The Minister will not have any from Donegal because you could travel ten miles and you would hardly meet a child or a young person in parts of that county.
