asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of an arrangement between the trade unions and Bord na Móna which provides for an improved superannuation scheme effective from 4th June, 1970; if it is a fact that such scheme has not been approved to date in his Department; and if, in view of the widespread dissatisfaction amongst Bord na Móna employees because of the undue delay in the implementation of the improved scheme, he will now undertake to sanction same as a matter of urgency.

Draft regulations incorporating agreed amendments to the pension scheme for regular works employees of Bord na Móna were submitted last June but difficulties arose out of further alterations proposed to be made in the scheme. These difficulties have now been resolved and the regulations will shortly be approved. The amendments will be effective as from 4th June, 1970.
