Vol. 249 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Inspection of Bridge.

16.

asked the Minister for Finance why in the case of a person (name supplied) who wants an inspection of a bridge with a view to having same lowered, such inspection has not been carried out after being requested on three separate occasions.

This bridge or, more properly, culvert was inspected two years ago by the Commissioners of Public Works scheme foreman when it was understood that the person in question intended to deepen it himself. Due to pressure of work on the engineer, who is responsible for a number of schemes throughout a very wide area, he was unable to inspect the culvert until recently. A more thorough inspection to enable him to take levels, et cetera, is necessary but this cannot be carried out until water conditions are suitable.
