Responsibility for the upkeep of public roads is a matter for the road authority, Kerry County Council. It is presumed that the Deputy has county roads in mind. Road Fund grants are not made available to any county for the up-keep of such roads. It is not possible to say from the information made available by the county council to the Department how much money will be spent by the council on the up-keep of these roads in the areas mentioned.
