Following discussions under the aegis of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and negotiations yesterday in my Department proposals have emanated which are to be considered by the executive committees of the three teacher organisations. I do not feel, therefore, that it would be appropriate for me to make any further statement in relation to the matter at the present time.
May I say that we had intended to press this issue but in view of what the Minister says I fully accept it would not be useful to do so?
