Vol. 253 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cashel Housing Scheme.

100.

asked the Minister for Local Government what progress has been made towards the provision of a much needed housing scheme in Cashel, County Tipperary.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Deputy Davern's Question No. 76 of the 30th March, 1971, on the subject. Since then the housing authority has proposed that a scheme of about 40 houses should be built in Cashel by a local firm, on the basis of proposals which they have submitted to me under the low cost housing project. It is intended to provide four houses in the first instance as prototypes. If these are found to be satisfactory in all respects, the remaining 36 houses will probably be built on the same basis.
