The average rate in the £ to cover the cost of health services, which I presume is what the Deputies had in mind, for the years 1953-54 and 1970-71 was respectively 5s 4d and 32s 5d, for the county health districts; 5s 4d and 32s 0d, for urban districts and 7s 5d and 38s 4d for county boroughs.
