I am not in a position to state when works can commence on the drainage of either river. It is necessary to investigate and consider the observations received arising out of the exhibition recently of the amended Maigue scheme and some alterations may have to be made in the scheme before it can be submitted to the Minister for Finance for confirmation. An engineering design for the Mulcaire scheme has not yet been completed.
