Proposals for an Hours of Work Act which would up-date the relevant provisions of the Conditions of Employment Act, 1936 and the Shops (Conditions of Employment) Act, 1938, and extend them to a wider range of workers have been prepared in my Department, and consultations with interested parties are proceeding. I hope to introduce the legislation later this year.
