I issued instructions in March of last year to local authorities on the reckoning of wholetime temporary service for superannuation purposes in the case of pensionable officers and pensionable servants. A period of absence through illness is reckonable as pensionable service provided the pensionable officer or servant concerned is paid by the local authority during such absence.
