The establishment of a high-power short-wave radio station would be necessary for broadcasts of the kind envisaged. I refer the Deputy to the debate on my Department's Estimate for 1971-72 during which I stated on 18th November, 1971—Vol. 256, No. 13, Col. 2453—that I had recently reconsidered the question of establishing a short-wave radio station but had concluded that the provision of such a service could not be justified at present. That is still the position.
