All lettings of State owned fisheries managed by my Department are made on the basis of sealed tenders and in the consideration of tenders factors such as the best interests of the maintenance and development of the fisheries, the length of lease sought, the suitability of the bidder and the intended use of the fishery are taken into account. In this connection preference is given where practicable to angling associations or bodies prepared to provide facilities for local and visiting anglers at reasonable terms.
