Vol. 265 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Lighting.

24.

asked the Minister for Local Government the reason for the delay in completing the public lighting on Avonbeg Road and Bolbrook Estate, Tallaght, County Dublin.

I am informed by the National Building Agency that the delay is due to some fittings being in short supply in the Electricity Supply Board. The agency is pressing the board for early completion of this work and expect that it will be done shortly.

My information is that, because of a difference or a dispute between the ESB and the local authority involved, Dublin Corporation, the parts of this estate to which I referred in the question, which have been built for almost a year, have been denied a bus service?

The question refers to public lighting.

Because of the hold-up in the installation of public lighting the estate cannot be taken over and, therefore, CIE refuse to run a bus in to it.

That is not the information I have. My information simply is that the board are being pressed for early completion of the work and that the delay is due to a shortage of some fittings. I will take up the matter to which the Deputy has referred.
