I presume that the question relates to the Committee for Proprietary Medicinal Products provided for in article 6 of the council's second draft directive on the approximation of provisions laid down by law, regulation or administrative action relating to proprietary medicinal products.
The committee will comprise expert representatives of the member states and of the EEC Commission; it is proposed that it will have mainly a consultative function and its findings will not be legally binding.
The Government accept in principle the proposed establishment of the committee. The detailed provisions of the directive are currently the subject of discussions between the member states and they have not been finalised.
