As I pointed out in the answer I gave on 10th May to a question on this subject put down by the Deputy, the allocation of these drivers has never been regarded as being a matter exclusively for the Garda authorities.
Three requests for the assignment of particular drivers to the Minister or Parliamentary Secretary concerned were made since the present Government took office.
