Model by-laws under section 70 of the Housing Act, 1966, have not been issued to local authorities. I have under examination a draft of by-laws prepared in my Department. When I have completed my review of this document I intend to circulate it to local authorities with a recommendation that the by-laws should be operated in the first instance for a trial period after which any amendments found to be desirable in the light of experience can be incorporated in a fresh model.
I will arrange to have a copy of the model by-laws circulated to Deputies.
