In so far as the second part of the question is concerned I think that, in the case of the limited number of authorities who operate a points system, a decision as to whether or not applicants should be informed on request of the number of points allocated to them, is better left to the housing authorities concerned. Because of day-to-day changes in applicants' circumstances I doubt if the information would be of any real value to applicants.
