Vol. 266 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath Road.

19.

asked the Minister for Local Government when a decision will be reached on the question of upgrading the road from Piercetown to Kilmoon which is on the road from Dunboyne to Drogheda.

As I intimated in reply to the Deputy's question of 8th ultimo regarding the Maynooth-Dunboyne road, I shall be consulting road authorities for their views as to the particular roads in their areas which it is proposed should be classified as regional roads. In the course of that consultation, I shall take full account of any views which Meath County Council may put forward in relation to the road from Piercetown to Kilmoon.

Does the Parliamentary Secretary anticipate an early result, as this matter has been with the Department for quite some time?

It is up to Meath County Council to make the necessary recommendations.

You are awaiting a reply from Meath County Council?

We expect to have this consultation shortly.
