Vol. 267 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Improvement Scheme Objector.

109.

asked the Minister for Local Government the action he is prepared to take to overrule an objector who will not give the necessary consent to allow a local improvement scheme to be carried out.

There are no powers available to me to deal with the objection of a person whose lands or interests would be affected by the carrying out of a local improvements scheme. It has not been considered necessary so far to ask the Oireachtas for such powers. I am, however, prepared to look again at the position generally in regard to this matter to see what action, if any, would be appropriate in particular circumstances.
