Vol. 268 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Vocational School.

58.

asked the Minister for Education if he has made a decision regarding a senior cycle for Killenaule Vocational School, County Tipperary; and, if not, the reason for the delay.

Mr. R. Burke

I understand that 25 pupils have commenced the senior cycle course in Killenaule Vocational School. I do not intend to interfere with this arrangement pending further developments.

Does the Minister agree that the 25 pupils have done this on their own initiative and on the initiative of the local vocational educational committee, and would he give the reason for the long delay about making a decision?

Mr. R. Burke

I will give the decision as soon as I can. I cannot get around to everything all at once. The Deputy should realise the volume of work that comes into the Department all the time. If the Deputy were to leave the matter it would be in the best interests of all concerned. I will come to it in due course.

The point in raising the question with the Minister is that our voices will be heard a second time——

Mr. R. Burke

I will note the Deputy's viewpoint.
