I would refer the Deputy to my reply to his question which I answered on 19th July last on the same subject. The Local Appointments Commission have set up a board to interview candidates for the post and it is understood that interviews are being held currently.
Is the Minister aware of the anxiety and disquiet in the Ballina area about the delay in sanctioning the post, in filling it, and also regarding the status of the post as advertised?
The attitude of the people in Ballina certainly gave me that impression last night week.
When the group met the Minister last week in Ballina did they impress on him the need to appoint a man of consultant status?
