asked the Minister for Finance how the revenue from VAT for the first half of the current financial year compares with the estimate of such revenue which formed portion of the 1973 budget calculations.

Mr. Kenny
As I indicated in my reply to a question on 31st October last, the net receipt from value-added tax in the first half of the current financial year was £66,053,754. In the 1973 budget calculations, value-added tax revenue was estimated at £119.3 million for the full financial year 1973-74. There was, of course, no estimate included in those calculations of such revenue in the half year to end-September.
