The National Prices Commission were requested by my predecessor to examine in depth the whole field of consumer protection and to report to him as soon as possible on what measures he might apply to provide improved protection for consumers in this country. This study has now been taken over by the National Consumer Advisory Council and I expect their report before Easter.
Does the Minister expect an interim report?
Tomorrow is the 1st March. I do not expect an interim report. I am expecting the report before Easter.
