Vol. 270 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Immigration Control.

125.

asked the Minister for Justice if his attention has been drawn to a report (details supplied) indicating that a couple convicted of drug pushing in respect of LSD in the United Kingdom had purchased a house in the Republic where they intended to live in the future; and if he will take steps to prevent their entry into the Republic.

I have seen the report referred to.

Whether any action can or ought to be taken by me if and when the persons in question come here would depend on the facts. The facts, of course, include the law, which does not provide for immigration checks on persons coming here from Britain and which does provide that a person born in Britain is not an alien for the purposes of the Aliens Orders.
