Vol. 272 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Postal and Telephone Facilities.

53.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will arrange for improvements in postal deliveries and services in Waterville, County Kerry, and for the installation of extra telephone kiosks in both Waterville and Caslagh in the Mastergeehy valley in conformity with the wishes of the Waterville and District Community Association.

The postal delivery service in Waterville was improved in recent months when delivery times were advanced by about two hours. Overall, this and the other postal services in the area compare favourably with those in other similar areas. The existing telephone kiosk in Waterville is not used to an extent that would warrant provision of a second kiosk there at present. As regards the provision of a telephone kiosk at Caslagh, I would refer the Deputy to the reply given on 14th March, 1974, to a previous question by him about this area.
