With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to have circulated with the Official Report, a tabular statement showing the main postage rates in EEC countries. It will be seen from the statement that postage rates in Ireland stand at about the mean of those charged in the EEC countries.

ESTIMATED STERLING EQUIVALENTS OF BASIC INTERNAL AND FOREIGN POSTAGE RATES FOR LETTERS AND PRINTED PAPERS IN EEC COUNTRIES
(EEC rates taken from latest information published by the Universal Postal Union and converted to sterling at current rates of exhange. The avoirdupois equivalents of the basic weight steps are given.)
