I have received no formal application from Donegal County Council for sanction to a loan for this purpose. An informal inquiry was addressed by the county manager to my Department as to the likelihood of such a loan being approved and he was reminded of the limit on capital availability and the need to ensure that the capital available is assigned to priority projects. The correspondence indicated that the airport project would require State aid but that the feasibility of its being considered for such had not been settled with the Department of Transport and Power.
