The payment of superannuation benefit to a county council worker is a matter for the local authority concerned and does not require my consent. Because of the complexity of the case in question the advice of my Department was sought. This was given by letter of 3rd April, 1974, and I understand that the pension is now being paid.
The efficacy of parliamentary questions is apparent.
