Vol. 274 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Industrial Grant.

50.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce why a person (name supplied) in County Cork was refused a grant for setting up a small industry in a rural area; and if he will have his application reconsidered.

I understand from the Industrial Development Authority that grant assistance was not offered in this case because there is already surplus production capacity both nationally and locally for the proposed products. The application would be reconsidered if the promoter changed to product lines where the market potential exceeded current production capacity.
