There is no obligation on firms to notify my Department when they are closing down, laying off workers or going on short-time.
The circumstances of firms which have dealings with my Department and the State agencies must be treated as confidential, and I am unable, therefore, to give the information sought. Some of the information has been publicised otherwise.
