The Government have already agreed to recognise Guinea-Bisseau as an independent sovereign state. The Government's decision was announced on 12th August last and was reported in the Press on the following day.
I may add that I was happy to welcome Guinea-Bisseau into full membership of the United Nations in the course of my address to the General Assembly in New York last month.
