asked the Minister for Local Government if proposals concerning the building of a bridge over the Shannon at Shannonbridge, County Offaly, have been submitted to him; and if consultations have taken place between officers of his Department and those of the Office of Public Works, the ESB, Bord Fáilte and Roscommon County Committee of Agriculture to ensure that a bridge that will allow the maximum flow of water will be designed which will help to reduce flooding in the Clonown area, Athlone, County Westmeath.
